Overview
An algorithm-based electronic decision support tool for acne-related dermatology referral was implemented in Epic at BWH, resulting in decreased rates of acne-related referrals to dermatology and greater likelihood of acne treatment initiation by the primary care clinician.

Results
35/260 patients (13.5%) initially referred to dermatology for acne had referral order cancelled after decision support popup notification. 51/260 patients (19.6%) were initiated on treatment by their primary care clinician.
