Overview
The Brigham and Women’s Hospital internal medicine residency implemented the Housestaff Research Project in 2013, a residency-wide research program which included a formal research curriculum and funding/mentorship for projects spanning the entire residency as opposed to individual research projects. Lecture topics included research methods, use of clinical data registries, manuscript publication, and the editing and submission process. Projects were chosen through “shark tank” format proposals. Overall, this led to more collaboration and interest in research.
